Nuvoton MA35D0 Series for Fire Alarm Control Systems -Built-in DDR Memory, 3 CANFD, 2 Ethernet, 11 UARTs-
What is a Fire Alarm Controller?
- A fire alarm controller monitors abnormal situations in real-time, triggers alarms, and controls firefighting equipment, enabling intelligent fire prevention and control. The six key fire alarm systems include: fire alarm control system, gas suppression control system, emergency lighting and evacuation system, fire door monitoring system, electrical fire monitoring system, and fire power supply monitoring system.
- Fire alarm controllers are typically categorized by their form factor: wall-mounted, cabinet, or desktop models.
What is a Fire Loop Board?
- The primary function of a fire loop board is to transmit signals from detectors, manual buttons, and other devices to the main unit.
- The fire loop board collects signals from detectors and manual buttons via a fire bus and transmits the data to the fire controller via CAN bus. It acts as a communication bridge between the fire controller and various nodes.
Nuvoton MA35D0 Series
The NuMicro® MA35D0 series features dual 64-bit Arm® Cortex®-A35 cores running at speeds up to 650 MHz. To simplify system design and production, the MA35D0 series is available in LQFP packaging and integrates DDR memory with a maximum capacity of 256 MB. This reduces PCB layer count and footprint, minimizing electromagnetic interference. The series offers multiple high-performance communication interfaces, including 100 Mbps Ethernet, SDIO 3.0, high-speed USB 2.0, and CAN FD. Additionally, the MA35D0 series supports an LCD display controller with resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second and integrates a graphics accelerator and JPEG decoder for improved HMI visuals.

MA35D0 & MA35D1 Series Models and Packages
Advantages of MA35D0 in Fire Alarm Controller Applications
- Built-in Larger DDR Memory for Hardware Design
The MA35D0 features up to 256 MB of embedded DDR memory and is available in LQFP packaging, simplifying hardware design. - Built-in Larger DDR Memory, Supports RGB888 Interface, and Can Run Linux+Qt for HMI Design
It supports newer Linux versions and is compatible with GUI frameworks such as Qt, LVGL, and emWin, facilitating HMI design. - Rich Interfaces: 3 * CANFD, 2 * 100 Mbps Ethernet, 11 * UARTs
The CANFD interface can be configured as a standard CAN interface, allowing for an easy upgrade from CAN to more reliable CANFD communication without hardware modifications. Nuvoton’s MA35D0 series supports both CAN and CAN FD communication, enabling fire loop board functionality. - Good Compatibility for Easy Performance Upgrades
The MA35D1 series offers higher performance, with embedded DDR memory up to 512 MB, BGA packaging support, more pins, and a smaller package design, facilitating performance upgrades.
